A Maurice Sendak Hobbit

Maurice Sendak drew some sketches for an illustrated edition of The Hobbit, and even met with Tolkien about it. Unfortunately, the book was never published (never finished?), apparently because Sendak suffered a heart attack. Via Slate. Picture here.
